Business etiquette
It is advisable to make an appointment in advance. Value is placed on punctuality. Business meetings are not quite as formal as in Europe. Verbal business agreements apply. Business cards should be in English on one side and in Arabic on the other. English is widely spoken in business circles, but interpreters are also available. UAE is a country located in Middle East according to itypeauto.
Dubai
Disregarding certain conventions in business matters is considered a particular faux pas in Dubai. Despite the great heat, it is expected to dress neatly and conservatively. Agreed meetings can start late. Part of the Arabic handshake is that each time you touch your heart with the palm of your right hand. Visitors should not offer a hand to Arab women, unless they initiate the handshake on their own initiative. As a courtesy, the words “Sayed” are used in the greeting. (Lord) or?? Sayeda?? (Woman) is used before the given name, and visitors should never sit with their feet pointing directly at someone. Criticism or suggestions for improvement should be saved for a private conversation after the meeting, because to get someone to Losing face, whether it is a client or a colleague, is considered extremely offensive. In general, business meetings start with a fair amount of casual chat before moving on to more serious matters, so be careful not to rush.
Also, business meetings in Dubai often appear to be a very casual affair – they can be held in cafes or restaurants, but be prepared for the fact that the pace can change quickly and business is done much faster than in Western Europe. Business invitations can be quite formal and business lunches are organized for lunchtime rather than evening. In some venues the consumption of alcohol is forbidden, if you are invited to a business lunch there you should not ask for alcoholic beverages as this can offend. Friday is considered a day of rest and prayer, which is why one should not arrange meetings for this day and, if possible, not call Arabs. During rest hours, usually between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.,
