Coming from Melbourne city center, take the chargeable CityLink road, which becomes the Tullamarine Freeway and leads directly to the airport. CityLink toll passes are available from machines near the parking ticket machines on the ground and second floors of the parking garages, as well as online on the Internet (Tel: (03) 13 26 29. Internet: www.transurban.com.au). If you want to avoid tolls, drive on the Western Ring Road.

Public transport – street:
Bus: The SkyBus (Tel: (03) 93 35 28 11; Internet: www.skybus.com.au) runs around the clock every 10-15 minutes during the day and every 30-60 minutes at night between the airport and Southern Cross Station in the city center, with several stops in the city area near hotels (journey time: 20-25 minutes, travel costs: A $ 17.00). Tickets can either be purchased in advance on the operator’s website or directly at the airport ticket counter in front of Terminal 3. From the Southern Cross Station, the Skybus Hotel Shuttle goes to various hotels Mon-Fri 6 a.m.-10 p.m., Sat / Sun 7:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m.
Tullamarine Bus (Internet: www.tullamarinebus.com.au) offers several connections from the airport to various destinations in Melbourne. Line 478 runs between Moonee Ponds and the airport. Line 479 stops at the airport on its journey between Moonee Ponds and Sunbury. Line 500 also stops at the airport on its journey between Broadmeadows and Sunbury. The SmartBus line 901 runs every 15 minutes during the day, every 30 minutes at night, between the airport and Broadmeadows train station (journey time: 20 minutes, travel costs: A $ 6). Broadmeadows station connects to the metro to Southern Cross station and Flinders Street.
There are other bus connections to locations in the state of Victoria, including Ballarat, Bendigo, Dandenong, Frankston, Mornington Peninsula and Geelong. Some of these connections must be booked in advance. More information is available on the airport website.
Taxi: Taxis are available in front of Terminals 1 and 2. The journey time to Melbourne city center is 30 minutes, the journey costs at least A $ 40. In addition to the fare, an airport parking fee of A $ 2 will be charged.
Facilities in the terminal
There is a bank branch in Terminal 2. There are also several exchange offices. ATMs are located between the check-in counters and the SkyPlaza on the departure level.

There is a post office in Terminal 2. There are public telephones in Terminals 1, 2 and 3. A TTY telephone is located in the arrivals area of Terminal 2. Several internet kiosks are available. Free wireless Internet access is available in all public areas in Terminal 2, 3 and 4. The airline Qantas offers free internet access via WiFi in Terminal 1.
Various restaurants, bars, cafes and snack bars are available.
There are numerous shops, including duty free shops.
There is luggage storage in the arrivals hall of T2. Baggage car depots are located in the international terminal and in the south terminal. Showers are available in the departure area of Terminal 2. Baby changing rooms are spread all over the airport. There is a prayer room, pharmacy, medical service and a hotel for pets.
Conference and meeting rooms:
VIP lounges on the arrivals level of Terminal 2 offer business and conference facilities that can be booked at the airport’s main reception. In Parkroyal Melbourne Airport (tel: (03) 834 720 00; Internet: www.parkroyalhotels.com) include a conference and meeting rooms and a fully equipped business center available; the hotel has direct access to the international and domestic terminal.
Wheelchair accessible toilets, treadmills and elevators are available throughout the terminal building. Wheelchairs are provided on request. Disabled travelers are asked to contact their airline in advance. Disabled parking is available at Business Park South. A TTY phone is in the arrivals area of Terminal 2.
There are short-term and long-term parking spaces as well as two business parking zones (north and south), all of which are open around the clock. The short-term parking spaces are located directly in front of the terminal buildings.
A multi-storey car park (Business Park South) offers direct access to the terminal buildings via a covered pedestrian bridge. A free shuttle bus runs around the clock every 20 minutes between the long-term car park and the terminals.
